Claytor uses Ace, 2nd Round 64 to earn win at Bradley Putters Open and second win in 6 days.
Monday June 5th, 2017th: After 3 days of ideal scoring conditions, Daniel Claytor came out victorious at the Bradley Putters Open at Bryan Park. After a 3-under 69 to start his week, Claytor fired a 2nd Round 64 that included an Ace on the Par 3 14th and a back 9 score of 31 to take the lead heading into the final round. During the final round, Claytor shot an even par front 9 but distanced himself from the pack with birdies on 10,11,13,15, and 17 to earn a 3 shot victory, and to cap off a good week for the Barton College Alum. Just 6 days prior to the final round, Claytor took home a victory during a Carolina Series event in Myrtle Beach.
Jake Mondy who started the final round in a tie for fourth, posted a bogey free 4-under par 68 to bring a 12-under performance into the clubhouse. Mondy, who made only 3 bogies all week, put himself into contention with 3 solid rounds. He ultimately finished the week in a tie for second with Justin Lower. Lower started the day just one back of Claytor’s lead, finishing with a 2-under 70 to finish 3 shots behind.
Rounding out the top half of the leaderboard were Joey Garber, Hans Reimers, Ryan Sullivan, and Jeremy Paul all tied for fourth at 10-under par. Sullivan started the week off with a 7-under 65. The biggest mover of the final round was Joey Garber. Garber started his final round in solo 8th, but a 4-under par round of 68 saw him climb four spots up the leaderboard.
