As Pre Qualifying for Q-School got underway, hundreds of Web.com Tour hopefuls were battling it out at 6 sites across the country. From those 6 sites, 50 SwingThought TOUR alums advanced through to 1st Stage.
Pre-Q’s began in Flower Mound, TX, Cato De Caza, CA, and Lincoln, NE on August 30th. 5 alums made it through the Flower Mound, TX site. Hunter Smith finished Tied for 3rd, while Jordan Payne finished in a Tie for 5th. Smith finished Pre-Q at 10-under par, and Payne finished at 8-under. Also making it through the Flower Mound site was SwingThought TOUR member, Jordan Findlay. Findlay shot a final round 3-under to finish in a tie for 20th.
At the Cato De Caza site, 4 alums earned their spot into 1st Stage. Michael Feuerstein, Taylor Schmidt, Ty Tryon, and David Sanders all advanced. 4 more alums earned their spot at the Lincoln, Nebraska site. Michael Nagy, and Carson Jacobs each finished tied for 10th, while Dylan Newman and Michael Murray also advanced.
The 2nd wave of Pre-Q’s started September 6th in Brunswick, GA, St. Augustine, FL, and Woodland, CA. 5 SwingThought TOUR alums advanced through the Woodland site. Bobby West, Rudy Caparas, Kevin Messer, Bryan Fox, and Ben Wood made it to 1st stage. Bryan Fox finished in a tie for 14th, and Ben Wood finished tied for 10th.
The St. Augustine site saw 12 alums advance to 1st stage. Leading the way was SwingThought TOUR member Taylor Funk and Connor Froning. Both Funk and Froning finished tied for 5th at 6-under par. Tyler Ledet advanced and finished tied for 12th, and Kyle Henning finished his week in a tie for 15th.
Of all the Pre-Q sites, Brunswick,GA had the most SwingThought TOUR alums advance. SwingThought TOUR member Shea Sylvester earned medalist honors. Sylvester finished 7-under for the 3 rounds, 1 shot clear of the rest of the field. Neal Ajubita finished tied for 3rd with a 5-under par total score. Finished tied for 10th at 1-under par were Ben Wolcott, Cory Taylor, Brandon Pierce and Cam Norman.
The SwingThought TOUR would like to congratulate everyone who advanced through Pre-Qualifying and into 1st Stage. Current SwingThought TOUR members that advanced through to 1st Stage earned 440 STTOUR Points for 2018.
