Seabolt Earns 2nd Consecutive Victory of 2019
Zach Seabolt earned his 2nd consecutive victory of 2019 last week at Eagle Creek. Seabolt entered the final round tied for 3rd and 1 shot off the lead, after opening with a first round bogey free 5-under 68. He got off to a hot start making back-to-back birdies on 1 and 2. Seabolt would then go on to make back-to-back birdies on 3 and 4, before adding another birdie on 9 to make the turn at 5-under. Seabolt would then go on to make 3 more birdies on 13, 16 and 18 to shoot a a final round 8-under 65 and win by 2. In his 2 wins this year, Seabolt has come from behind both times.
Finishing in solo 2nd was Greyson Sigg. Sigg entered the final round in a tie for 1st after an opening round 6-under 67. Sigg made his first birdie of the day on 3, and he added another birdie on 5. He then added a bogey on 6, but bounced back with birdies on 7 and 9 to shoot a front 9 3-under. After making the turn, Sigg made a birdie on 10. He would go on to add another birdie on 13 before making 5 consecutive pars to shoot a final round 5-under 68.
Finishing in a tied for 3rd we’re Dalton Ward and Chandler Blanchet. Dalton Ward entered the final round in a tie for 7th. He got off to a quick start by making birdies on 2 and 4. Ward then went on a bogey, birdie, bogey stretch on 5-7, before making back-to-back birdies on 8 and 9 to make the turn at 3-under. Ward then made 3 consecutive pars after making the turn. He then made birdies on 13 and 15, before making a bogey on 16. Ward wrapped up his round by making back-to-back birdies on 17 and 18 to shoot a final round 6-under 67 to vault up the leaderboard. Also finishing in a tie for 3rd was Chandler Blanchet. Blanchet entered the final round tied for the lead. His started his final round with 7 consecutive pars. He made a bogey on 8, but bounced back with an eagle on 9 to make the turn at 1 under. After making the turn, Blanchet made a birdie on 10. He went on to make 2 more birdies on 13 and 15 to shoot a final round 4-under 69.
Rounding out the Top 5 was Andy Pope. After opening with a first round 5-under 68, Pope entered the final round in a tie for 3rd. Pope made his first birdie of the day on 4, but made a bogey on 5. He then made 3 consecutive birdies on 7,8 and 9 to make the turn at 3-under. Pope then made 3 consecutive pars after making the turn. He made birdies on 13 and 15, before making a bogey on 17 to shoot a final round 4-under 69 to finish in solo 5th.
